King Kong

Before anything else... Hi Peishan! Great to hear from you... Merry Christmas to ya too... =)

Celebrated Guan's 25th birthday together yesterday, and it was a whole lot of fun we had. The fact that I had to go to office in the morning didn't dampen my spirits at all. We settled our travel arrangements, had a good tim sum lunch @ Crystal Jade Kitchen, went for massages and watched King Kong. And he liked his present--a Picard wallet--and his birthday card, which I specially drew for him. =)

Conclusions from King Kong:

1) King Kong is actually quite a hunk. And quite cute.
2) If women were to be major decision-makers, there would probably be less conflict in the world?

Lemme qualify the last one. I mean, if the dudes let the babe do her stuff and try and cool King Kong down (instead of pulling her back and finding her a nuisance and in the way of their big guns), surely all the devastation could have been avoided. So it was not the beauty that killed the beast, but the presumptuous nature of men--men who think that women aren't good for anything else except to look at; men who think women are nothing but trouble. So listen to the lady, man.

Then again, the whole idea of "the beauty taming the beast" is in fact a rather sexist one. I mean, why can't a not-so-attractive woman with a great personality be the one who "tames the beast?" Is beauty the only attribute that women should be known for? Why didn't anyone point out Ann Darrow's bravery and great survival instincts for being able to face a giant ape (that men would run away from) and still become his best friend?

There you have it. Food of King Kong proportions for you to chew on. =)
